This Thursday, the South Australian Parliament will vote on a motion relating to the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. The motion aims to secure a commitment to seeing out the full implementation of the Plan, including the return of the additional 450GL of environmental water promised to SA in the original Basin Plan.

This debate comes at a critical time for the river, as huge decisions about its future are being made in Canberra right now.

It's essential that the SA Parliament takes a clear stand backing the river.

We want ALL members of the South Australian Parliament, including the Liberal Opposition and One Nation to vote in favour.

So, we’re asking you to write to their offices and make it clear that:

  • The Basin Plan must be implemented in full to protect South Australia, its agriculture, drinking water and industry.

  • The South Australian Parliament has consistently defended the Plan, and must continue to stand united in holding upstream states accountable.

  • Unhealthy rivers will damage South Australia’s economy and communities.
